Project of the Month Club

Shelley, Anne and I have started up a new club that meets on the second Wednesday of the month (except for July and December).  Last month was our first club meeting and we made mini-banners which turned out fabulous.  We had an awesome group of participants.

This month we will be making a set of five (5) cards and a matching box.  These cards will use the Close To My Heart Footloose paper with the Seaside wooden shapes and Mocha Opaques.  All the cards fit into the box and would make a wonderful gift (Mother's Day is right around the corner!)

Here are the details:
  • Footloose Card Workshop
  • Wednesday, May 9th
  • 6:30 - 8:30 PM
  • Round Table Pizza at 9500 Greenback Ln    [I know it's confusing that we're having clubs at two different RTP, but this is the one near Ace Hardware and Big Lots, where Madison and Greenback come together.]
  • Cost is $15
  • RSVP to register by April 30th

We have a limited number of spots for this workshop so please respond early by sending an email to me at scrapwithsally@aol.com.  If you are unable to attend, but wish to purchase a workshop kit, please let me know.

Below are pictures of the individual cards.  They are really fun to make!

A special thank you to fellow consultant Debbie Fournier for the inspiration and to Shelley for the actual design!

New Class Series!

Anne, Shelley and I are starting something new. We’ve reserved space at the Round Table Pizza in Orangevale (that’s the one at on Madison, almost at the intersection with Greenback) once a month, and we’re going to start offering some of the projects we’ve gotten excited about. Sometimes it will be altered objects, sometimes card sets, sometimes mini-albums. We’d love for you to join us on this adventure.

We’re making banners for our first project. One of the NEW items that showed up in our Close To My Heart Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book is the My Creations Mini Banner (check it out on page 131). Shelley couldn't wait to get her hands on one to recreate the banner made with LUCY paper (it’s on page 26). Also see Shelley's blog (link on the right - Montana Bait Shop - to see her creations)

Here are the details:

· When: Wednesday, April 11; 6:30 - 8:30 pm

· Where: Round Table Pizza at Madison and Greenback (on the edge of Orangevale/Folsom)

· What: You'll receive a complete My Creations Mini Banner.

That's 10 white chipboard pennants in 4 different shapes. We'll provide everything you need to make 1 or 2 or 3 banners -- it all depends on the words you choose. We'll pre-cut the paper (using the fabulous CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge), provide the ribbon, and throw in a few embellishments to jazz it up. You just bring adhesives and your imagination.

· Cost: $15

· How: Contact me or Anne or Shelley.

· Please reserve your spot by April 2nd. We need time to order things and cut things!

Here are a few words that would make great banners: FAMILY, LOVE,  SMILE, CREATE, EAT, BE NICE, CELEBRATE, PEACE, your name, your family name, your kid's name, your boss's name...

Birthday Card Workshop

Shelley, Anne, Terri and I held our first birthday card workshop yesterday.  We had 28 people signed up and we had a terrific time.  Below are the two cards that I designed (although I did scraplift one of them almost exactly!).  Both use paper from the Stella paper pack and stamps from Card Commentary - Birthday and Fashionista.  The top card was cut from the Art Philosphy Cartridge.
